INGREDIENTS

(For Sugar Syrup)

Water - 1 tablespoon

Saffron - 1/4 teaspoon

Water - 220 milliliters

Sugar - 500 grams

Cardamom - 5 - 6

(For Dough)

All purpose flour - 300 grams

Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Ghee - 100 milliliters

Water - 100 milliliters

Pistachios - for garnishing

PREPARATION

(For Sugar Syrup)

1. In a bowl, add 1 tablespoon water, 1/4 teaspoon saffron and soak for 10 minutes.

2. Take a pot, add 220 milliliters water, 500 grams sugar and mix well until the sugar is fully dissolved.

3. Add the soaked saffron mixture, 5 - 6 cardamom and mix well. Bring it to a boil and keep aside.

(For Dough)

1. In a mixing bowl, add 300 grams all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and mix well.

2. Add 100 milliliters ghee, 100 milliliters water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.

3. Rest the dough for 10 minutes.

(Rest of the Preparation)

1. Now cut small balls for balushahi out of the prepared dough.

2. Give shape of balushahi as shown in the video.

3. Heat sufficient oil in a heavy skillet and fry them on low heat until golden brown.

4. Take out the fried balushahi and soak in sugar syrup for 2 - 3 minutes.

5. Garnish with pistachios.

6. Serve.
